You Will Do: Pratt & Whitney (P&W) is seeking a Human Factors
specialist to lead the maturation of the Human Factors discipline
under P&W’s Enterprise SMS Program Office in East Hartford, CT.
They will work closely with cross-functional human factors
practitioners across P&W, the other RTX Business Units, and
external industry collaborators to enhance P&W’s Human Factors
tools, methods, and command media, and strengthen P&W’s already
industry-leading Safety Management System (SMS). The primary focus
of this position will be on Just Culture and applying Human Factors
tools to build robust human-resilient systems within Pratt &
Whitney to proactively improve Product Safety and Quality.
Additionally, they will lead initiatives with other Human Factors
Engineering and Human System Integration practitioners across the
company to enhance capability in a broad spectrum of disciplines,
where opportunity exists. A successful candidate must be a strong
communicator, have background leading dynamic cross-functional
teams, and have a passion for improving culture and product safety.
Develop and deploy tools, methods, and command media for assessing
Human Factors across various applications in Engineering,
Operations, and business processes Lead initiatives with
cross-functional and cross-business Human Factors-related
communities of practice and make recommendations to enhance Human
Factors applications across the business. Support P&W’s Just
Culture by developing tools for applying Human Factors investitive
methodologies to various processes throughout the company where
human factors are relevant. Engage in technical Root Cause
investigations where human error may be a factor, and drive robust
system-level solutions. Advise on P&W’s Safety Issue Management
process during the development and deployment of Fleet Management
Plans. Lead Just Culture assessments that arise from P&W’s
Product Safety Report-A-Concern process, to ensure system-level
effects on human performance are identified and addressed in a
comprehensive and consistent manner. Create metrics and trend data
to articulate Human Factors discipline health to SMS leadership.
Qualifications You Must Have : Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors
or related field 12 years of experience in Aerospace or 10 years
with an Advanced Degree. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may
require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals
who possess US citizenship. Qualifications We Prefer: Strong
background working in the aviation industry applying Human Factors,
organizational psychology, and Safety Culture principles strongly
preferred Strong understanding of Safety Management System
principles and ability to communicate these principles to broad
audiences. Excellent communication skills and experience
articulating vision and strategy at senior leadership level.
Familiarity with Engineering, Quality, and Operations organizations
and/or processes. Background in writing command media and
developing processes and using industry standard tools (ACE, CORE,
Six Sigma, etc.) for continuous process improvement. What We Offer:

production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the

as on-site, hybrid or remote. The salary range for this role is
157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good
faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX

not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities,
a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and
