Responsible for leading category / vendor management processes and optimization initiatives to support enterprise wide Indirect Categories at Point32Health. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-7 years of experience leading strategic sourcing and vendor management activities in the IT space
  • Knowledge and expertise within IT indirect category
  • Strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills to act as an effective change agent.
  • A consistent track record of delivering business impact in a complex corporate environment and
  • Strong implementation skills supported by strategic vision to drive spend management excellence in complex categories.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, communication skills, business acumen, influencing technique, and collaboration savvy in a team environment is also criticalKEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUCNTIONS:Contract Review, Modification, Negotiation
    • Work with business owners and the legal department to create and negotiate vendor contracts.
    • Develop contract language in conjunction with the Legal Department
    • Negotiate price and contract language with vendors, while working in conjunction with the Legal Department and the business ownerCompetitive Bidding, Negotiations and Cost Reduction Initiatives
      • Follow all policies and procedures regarding the sourcing, selecting and management of vendors. Responsibilities include:
      • Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) documents in coordination with the appropriate project leader.
      • Manage the RFP process, acting at the main point of contact with vendors and business owners
      • Synthesize RFP responses into meaningful, actionable summaries
      • Collaborate with Business Owners to recommend the best Vendor to meet business needsVendor Relationships & Performance Measurements
        • Measure and track vendor performance to ensure appropriate service levels are maintained with key vendors. This will be accomplished by working with vendors and business owners to establish and monitor mutually agreeable service level agreements and terms and conditions of the business relationship.
        • Provide feedback on performance, seek continuous improvement and innovation
        • Work with vendors and key stakeholders to manage vendor performance and develop new capabilities
        • When performance issues emerge, identify root causes and work with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficient resolution
        • Identify and capture profit improvement opportunities beyond sourcing, such as demand management, process improvements, insource vs. outsource innovation, etc.
        • Regularly monitor the market for category leading practices and demand/supply shifts such as vendor consolidation, technology innovations, etc.
        • Implement strategies to best manage the vendor base for categories in scope, reviewing vendors against contracted obligations/service levels and business expectationsPeople Management
          • Provide oversight and direction to the Procurement Specialist, Procurement Analyst and Buyer in accordance with the organization and department's policies and procedures
          • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback
          • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
          • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performanceProject Management
            • Provides project management experience in situations where vendor participation is a key component to successful project implementation and that skill set is not inherent in the functional area.Other Projects as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS: -Education
              • BS/BA degree in relevant area such as Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance requiredExperience
                • 5-7 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience demonstrating success in positions of increasing complexity.Skill Requirements
                  • Experience with category management strategies for categories in scope, opportunity diagnostic, strategic sourcing process, vendor management with a proven track record of delivering business impact
                  • Demonstrated analytical, financial, problem solving, organization, and project management skills

                  • Develop and manage relationships across the business to achieve key business, organizational and cross-cultural objectives.
                  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly functioning business relationships at senior levels both within and outside the organization.
                  • Knowledge of Vendor Management tools (SRM, conducting Quarterly Business Reviews, etc.)
                  • Technology-savvy and high competency in MS office; Advanced Excel skills and other analytics software as well as eSourcing, reverse auctions, etc.Communication
                    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
                    • Ability to interact effectively and gain credibility with internal associates at all levels as well as external third partiesWORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel, overtime)
                      • Fast paced office environment handling multiple demands.
                      • Position is Hybrid in office one day a week.
                      • Requires ability to use desktop computer equipment for extended periods of time to create documents and conduct numerical analysis.
                      • General office setting.
                      • May require travel to vendor locations.
