Job Description:
Catholic Medical Center invites applications for the position of
Nurse Extern PRN within our Oncology and Urology Unit. This role
provides a unique opportunity for nursing students to gain direct,
supportive experience in a clinical setting while still in school.
The extern will work under the supervision of our registered nurses
and medical staff to assist with patient care and acquire hands-on
experience in oncology and urology. This position is perfect for
those who aspire to specialize in these critical areas of
healthcare, translating classroom knowledge into practical skills
in a supportive, faith-based hospital environment. Assist nursing
staff with daily care of patients in the oncology and urology
units. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient
conditions. Assist with medical procedures and follow safety
protocols. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
Participate in educational workshops to enhance skills and
knowledge. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and
healthcare team members. Basic nursing skills Strong interpersonal
and communication skills Ability to adhere to safety guidelines
Aptitude for compassionate patient care Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support
(BLS) Certification required. Active enrollment as a nursing
student in good standing.
